Anti-Spam and Business Promotion Policy

Our community exists to help real people connect, ask questions, share local knowledge, and participate in meaningful conversations. To protect that purpose, we do not allow spam, business promotion, or commercial activity on this platform.

1. No Business Memberships

This community is for individual members only. Businesses, brands, agencies, organizations, sales representatives, promoters, marketers, and commercial accounts are not permitted to create profiles, join groups, post content, message members, or participate under the appearance of a personal account.

Accounts created primarily to promote a business, service, product, event, website, social media page, rental, tour, restaurant, real estate listing, professional service, or commercial offer may be removed without notice.

2. No Business Promotion

Members may not use the community to advertise, market, promote, or solicit business. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Posting business names, links, menus, flyers, discount codes, promotions, or sales offers
  • Sharing links to commercial websites, booking pages, WhatsApp sales groups, Facebook business pages, or social media accounts
  • Promoting rentals, tours, transportation services, real estate, restaurants, bars, shops, professional services, classes, events, or products
  • Asking members to contact you for prices, bookings, quotes, appointments, or availability
  • Sending promotional messages privately to other members
  • Repeatedly recommending the same business, especially one you own, work for, represent, or benefit from

3. No Hidden or Indirect Advertising

Members may not disguise advertising as personal recommendations, casual conversation, helpful advice, or community updates.

Examples of prohibited indirect promotion include:

  • “I know a great company, message me for details”
  • “My friend has a service that can help”
  • “We offer exactly what you need”
  • “Check out this new place I’m involved with”
  • Posting staged questions or comments designed to create interest in a business
  • Creating multiple accounts to recommend, review, or defend the same business

If you have any financial, employment, referral, ownership, partnership, or personal interest in a business, you may not promote it in the community.

4. No Solicitation or Lead Generation

Members may not use the community to collect leads, recruit customers, build mailing lists, sell services, conduct market research for commercial purposes, or move members into private sales channels.

This includes requests such as:

  • “DM me for more information”
  • “Join my WhatsApp group”
  • “Fill out this form”
  • “Book a consultation”
  • “Follow my page”
  • “I’m offering a special deal”
  • “Looking for people who need…”

5. Personal Recommendations Must Be Genuine

Members may share genuine personal recommendations when another member asks for help, but recommendations must be honest, relevant, and based on personal experience.

Recommendations may not be used as a way to promote your own business, your employer, a client, a partner, or any business where you receive compensation, discounts, commissions, referrals, or other benefits.

The community team may remove recommendations that appear repetitive, coordinated, misleading, promotional, or commercially motivated.

6. No Spam Content

Spam includes any content that is repetitive, irrelevant, misleading, automated, copied across multiple posts, or posted mainly to drive traffic, attention, sales, sign-ups, or engagement elsewhere.

Spam may include:

  • Repeated posts or comments
  • Irrelevant links
  • Copy-and-paste promotional content
  • Clickbait
  • Fake reviews or testimonials
  • Mass private messages
  • Cryptocurrency, investment, loan, job, immigration, visa, health, dating, adult, or “get rich quick” promotions
  • Suspicious links, scams, phishing attempts, or misleading offers

7. Events, Causes, and Community Notices

Community events, nonprofit efforts, volunteer opportunities, and local notices may be allowed when they are genuinely community-focused and not primarily commercial.

However, event organizers, vendors, sponsors, venues, and promoters may not use the community as a free advertising channel. The community team may remove any post that appears promotional, sales-driven, or outside the site’s purpose.

8. Private Messages Are Covered by This Policy

This policy applies to public posts, comments, group discussions, profiles, usernames, bios, photos, links, and private messages.

Sending unsolicited promotional messages to members is strictly prohibited. Members who receive spam or unwanted business messages should report them to the community team.

9. Enforcement

We reserve the right to remove any content, profile, message, link, image, or account that violates this policy or appears to violate the spirit of the policy.

Depending on the situation, enforcement may include:

  • Removal of the post, comment, link, or message
  • Warning the member
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account removal
  • Blocking duplicate or related accounts
  • Restricting access to groups, messaging, or posting features

Serious violations, including scams, deceptive promotion, harassment, fake accounts, or mass messaging, may result in immediate removal without warning.

10. Final Decision

The community team has final discretion when deciding whether content is spam, promotional, misleading, or inappropriate for the community.

Attempts to evade this policy through coded language, fake personal accounts, repeated “recommendations,” private-message funnels, or indirect promotion may result in permanent removal from the platform.

11. Report Spam

Members help keep the community useful and trustworthy. If you see spam, business promotion, suspicious links, fake recommendations, or unwanted promotional messages, please report the content or contact the community team.
